Chargers Shock Dolphins in Miami with Last-Second Field Goal Win

In a heart-stopping game that kept fans on edge until the final second, the Los Angeles Chargers defeated the Miami Dolphins 29–27 at Hard Rock Stadium, thanks to a 33-yard field goal from Cameron Dicker with just nine seconds left on the clock.

The matchup was a true back-and-forth offensive duel between Justin Herbert and Tua Tagovailoa, featuring big passing plays, explosive runs, and defensive lapses that turned the contest into a nail-biter until the end.

Dicker’s Accuracy and Herbert’s Leadership Seal the Win

The Chargers started strong behind Dicker’s precision, as he nailed three field goals in the first half. But Miami responded behind running back De’Von Achane, who broke free for a spectacular 49-yard touchdown run and later added another rushing score in the fourth quarter, briefly putting the Dolphins ahead 27–26.

When it looked like Miami would hold on for the win, Herbert led a flawless final drive, taking the Chargers into field goal range and setting up Dicker’s fourth kick of the night — the game-winner.
Herbert finished with two touchdown passes, while Tagovailoa connected with Darren Waller for one late score that wasn’t enough to secure victory.

Chargers Start Strong, Dolphins Need Adjustments

With this result, the Chargers open their season on a high note, showing composure and execution under pressure.
The Dolphins, meanwhile, will need to tighten their run defense and improve their clock management if they want to avoid further heartbreaks at home.
