$22 billion in direct spending, contributing $2.2 billion in state and local tax revenue. The tourism sector now supports more than 209,000 jobs, a historic high. International markets showed impressive growth, with Colombia, Brazil, and the United Kingdom seeing visitation increases of 8%, 12%, and 10%, respectively.
Hotel Industry and Infrastructure Growth
Miami-Dade County also led Florida in hotel occupancy in 2024, ranking fourth nationwide among the top 25 U.S. hotel markets. This growth continued into 2025, with Miami now ranked first in revenue per available room and year-to-date occupancy. The region’s thriving hotel industry is further boosted by new infrastructure projects, such as the upcoming 800-room Grand Hyatt convention center hotel set to open in 2027.
Commitment to Sustainability and Inclusivity
Miami’s dedication to sustainability and inclusivity has become a hallmark of its tourism strategies. Seventy-one local hotels are now Green Key Global certified, catering to environmentally conscious travelers. The city has also partnered with Wheel the World and IBCCES to make Miami a "Destination Verified" location for travelers with disabilities. Additionally, the
“It’s Where You Belong” campaign promotes accessible attractions, and the Black Hospitality Initiative raised a record $250,000 for future hospitality leaders.
Events that Continue to Drive Tourism
Miami’s packed event calendar has played a pivotal role in attracting visitors.
Major events like Art Basel, the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix, and the Latin GRAMMYs brought countless visitors to the city. Looking to the future, Miami is set to host iconic events like the
