Inter Miami Signs Argentine Forward Mateo Silvetti Through 2029

A Rising Argentine Talent Joins MLS

Inter Miami CF has officially announced the signing of Argentine forward Mateo Silvetti from Newell’s Old Boys. The 19-year-old attacker has agreed to a contract running through the 2029 Major League Soccer season, with a club option for 2030. The move, finalized before the close of the secondary transfer window, comes under MLS’ U-22 initiative and is pending receipt of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) and P-1 Visa.

From Rosario to Miami

Silvetti rose through the youth academy at Newell’s Old Boys before making his professional debut in 2024. Since then, he has featured in 37 matches across all competitions, tallying six goals and two assists. His performances in Argentina’s top flight highlighted him as one of Rosario’s brightest emerging forwards, now set to take on a new challenge in MLS.

International Experience with Argentina

On the international stage, Silvetti has already represented Argentina’s U-20 national team. Since making his debut in 2024, he has recorded three appearances and one goal. Notably, those appearances came under the leadership of Javier Mascherano — now head coach at Inter Miami — establishing a strong connection between player and manager ahead of his MLS journey.

Part of Inter Miami’s Long-Term Vision

Silvetti’s arrival underscores Inter Miami’s strategy of blending global stars with promising young talent to build a competitive and sustainable squad. The forward’s signing represents not only an investment in the present but also in the club’s future, as Miami continues to position itself among the most ambitious teams in Major League Soccer.
