It’s official: Brickell isn’t just Miami’s financial hub—it’s also one of the friendliest neighborhoods in America. A recent study by home décor retailer Hastha Kalalu ranked Brickell seventh on a list of the country’s most welcoming communities, reinforcing what locals already know: there’s a reason so many newcomers fall in love with this vibrant Miami district.

The study analyzed data from U.S. Census records, Zillow, and FBI crime reports, evaluating 30 of the most searched neighborhoods in the country. Factors like affordability, safety, and overall community vibe played a key role in the rankings.

For Brickell, safety was the standout factor. According to the report, "The high safety is an important factor, distinguishing it in the Miami area." That’s no small feat for a neighborhood that also happens to be the second most densely populated among the top ten.

America’s Friendliest Neighborhoods

While Brickell made a strong showing at number seven, the top spot went to Elkhorn in Omaha, which claimed the title thanks to its low crime rate, high safety ranking, and affordable cost of living. Texas dominated the list, with Kingwood in Houston and South Side in Corpus Christi rounding out the top three.

Here’s the full ranking of America’s friendliest neighborhoods:

  • Elkhorn, Omaha
  • Kingwood, Houston
  • South Side, Corpus Christi
  • Northwest, El Paso
  • Deer Valley, Phoenix
  • Highland, Saint Paul
  • Brickell, Miami
  • Upper West Side, New York
  • Maryvale, Phoenix
  • Chevy Chase, Lexington

While affordability certainly helped some neighborhoods climb the ranks, Brickell’s inclusion on the list suggests that the Miami lifestyle—a mix of urban energy, waterfront views, and a growing sense of community—continues to appeal to new residents.

Brickell: A Community Beyond the Skyline

Once known primarily as Miami’s financial district, Brickell has evolved into a bustling residential and social hub. High-rise condos and luxury apartments line the streets, while restaurants, bars, and cultural hotspots draw both locals and visitors alike. The area’s walkability, growing number of green spaces, and commitment to safety have only strengthened its reputation as a desirable place to live.

And while Miami may not be known for being the most affordable city, Brickell’s tight-knit community and welcoming atmosphere make it a standout among urban neighborhoods.

For now, we’ll happily stay put in Brickell—no surprise there.
